Plastic is bad for our seas!

We have been writing to persuade people.

- We say why plastic is bad.

-We say what we can do to help.

We have learnt a lot in our inquiry topic this term. Read our important messages!

We must use less plastic because it is bad for the environment because the sea creatures will die. So dont use plastic bags and plastic straws.. The fish will die because the plastic turns into little pieces.- Kyrah Jade

Dont buy plastic plants. And you need to pick up rubbish. It is has got a 1 or a 2 on it then put it into the recycling. Dont buy plastic. I will tell you because plastic is not safe in the sea. They pick plastic up.- Estelle

Do you know that plastic is hurting the sea creatures alot and alot that they might die. Do you know that there is more plastic in the ocean than fish? So can people please use less plastic in the school. Please!! Please!! Please!!- Pearl

Did you know there is more plastic in the ocean than fish? The plastic breaks down into small bits. Then the fish eat it. -Charlie

Did you know that plastic never can go away? Do you know how many years a plastic bag can take to disolve? It takes 1,000 years to dissolve, it is scary. And there is plastic in nearly every baby sea turtle and plastic can never go away. You should not litter with plastic. Do you know why? Because it can end up in the sea. It is bad because plastic is so cheap that you can throw it out.- Rosie

Did you know that there is going to be more plastic in the ocean than fish? Please put the correct plastic in the correct bin. The rubbish goes into the landfill dump. One in three fish have plastic in it's tummy. Plastic kills fish in the ocean. Plastic never goes away.- Blu

How to not put plastic in the ocean. Did you know that there is going to be more plastic in the ocean than fish? Some of us have plastic in our tummy. One in three fish have plastic in their tummy. So don't litter and try to put rubbish in the right bins becuase it can end up in the ocean and plastic can stay for 1,000 years. That is why you need to try to not litter.- Thea

  4. Great persuasive writing Thea, I was talking about this to the principal at Kaingaroa school, as they are doing an inquiry too about the same thing, she was very impressed by your knowledge as was I about plastic in the ocean and the repercussions to the sea life and ourselves! Keep up the good work x
